When King Wen passed away, unfulfilled in his aspirations, Mercury, the White Star, enshrined him as the deity of “Harmony” and placed him among the celestial abode of “Tiantong Star”. Hence, this celestial body, Tiantong Star, assumed dominion over “gentleness”.
The downfall of King Zhou, vanquished by King Wu, might have been averted for the Yin Dynasty had he been surrounded by loyal or virtuous ministers. Alas, the Yin Dynasty harbored its share of treacherous counselors. Foremost among them was Fei Zhong, the archetypal prime minister whose unyielding sycophancy at the court of King Zhou wrought havoc upon many upright figures.
