Handled adeptly, it benefits the individual, the family, society, and the education of offspring. Conversely, mishandling may lead to unhappiness for both the family and the individual, particularly causing irreparable emotional scars in the hearts of children, thus burdening society with myriad troubles. Hence, the matter of marriage stands as one of the pivotal subjects of sociological inquiry in human society.
From the Book of Changes, it is evident that our ancestors attached great importance to the study of marriage from early times. Numerous hexagrams expound on the issue of marital compatibility. For instance, it is advised that a suitable pairing entails the eldest son with the eldest daughter, the middle son with the middle daughter, and the youngest son with the youngest daughter, fostering harmonious resonance between the two energies.
