In the realm of the Five Elements, the Proper Seals, as ordained by fate, are seen in the Metal Masters in the Year of the Earth Ox, the Wood Masters in the Year of the Water Rat, the Fire Masters in the Year of the Wood Dog, and the Water and Earth Masters in the Year of the Water Dragon and the Fire Dragon. As stated in “Words and Talks”: “Encountering the Proper Seal at birth, one must pay homage to the Jade Hall.” And in “Exquisite Selections”: “When the Five Elements enter the precinct, one ascends to high offices.” It is evident that the Proper Seal of one’s own element is esteemed. The primary seal aligns with virtuous qualities at the forefront, imperial positions in the middle, and the prenatal month at the base. The individual is dignified and robust, their achievements illustrious. Furthermore, if the native seal is complemented by an auspicious configuration, it is even more auspicious. Should Wood obtain the Floating Water Seal or Fire obtain the Wood Seal, additional authority and external wealth are bestowed. If the element counters its seal, or the seal counters the element, it may wane but rise again. If a Water person obtains the Fire Seal or a Fire person bears the Floating Water Seal, it ranks below the native seal, yet the auspiciousness relies on the vitality of the individual. If there is no remedy amidst the clash or if it is inauspicious, it may only lead to a life of leisure as a monk or a scholar who achieves nothing. If the Five Elements possess clear vitality, one becomes an extraordinary figure; if afflicted by malevolent influences, poverty and lowliness ensue.
For those with auspicious individuals flanking their seals, such as a Fire person with a Bing or Ding Seal in the Year of the Wood Dog, flanked by You or Hai, the latter being auspicious for Bing and Ding; or a Water person with a Ren or Gui Seal in the Year of the Water Dragon, flanked by Mao or Yi, the latter being auspicious for Ren and Gui.
There are also Hidden Canopy Seals, such as those found in Hai, Mao, and Wei combined with Gui, for instance.
Then there are Literary Seals, seen in combinations like Wu Yin encountering Gui Wei, Xin Yi encountering Jia Xu, Geng Shen encountering Yi Chou, Gui Hai encountering Bing Chen, Yi Hai encountering Ren Chen, which subdue the Day Master and duplicate the Stem Deity. Combinations like Wu Wu obtaining Gui Wei, Geng Zi obtaining Jia Xu, Ding You obtaining Ren Chen, Ji Mao obtaining Shen Xu, Xin You obtaining Bing Chen, where the Stem Deity controls and merges with the Branch Deity, are also considered.
All seals must meet the requirements of the tomb or storehouse. If they thrive and support each other, intertwining with blessings, official positions, and auspicious individuals, it signifies an exceedingly noble destiny. Beware of the detrimental clashes, where the three harmonies and the six harmonies witness spectral apparitions. For instance, if on a Jiaxu day during the hour of Guiyou, vitality wanes. Those with a Water destiny gain no benefit from their native seal; with a Wood seal, vitality diminishes; with an Earth seal, whether there are interrelations between branches and stems determines whether it’s termed an official seal or a specter seal.
Furthermore, there exist the fortuitous accumulation seals. If in the year, month, day, and hour, all five positions lack weakening influences and both the true and the side seals are present, whether dominant or prosperous, despite the presence of malevolent deities, they are subjected, constituting what is termed the fortuitous accumulation seals.
