In the scripture “Dripping Essence from Heaven,” it is stated: “How do we recognize a person’s wealth? The wealth energy flows through the gateway.” So, what does it mean for wealth energy to flow through the gateway? It signifies the connection and alignment of the wealth star in the Eight Characters (Bazi) destiny with the Day Master, creating a smooth flow of energy, manifesting a continuous and abundant phenomenon. Wealth energy refers to the wealth stars in the Eight Characters, including both the primary and secondary wealth. And what is the gateway? It refers to the Day and Hour pillars in the Eight Characters. Ancient texts mention, ‘Years and months are like rulers, while days and hours are like ministers,’ indicating that years and months govern external matters, and the Day Master is subject to the control of years and months. No matter how capable the Day Master is, it cannot surpass the energy of years and months to act independently. The Day Master, governing a day’s control, presides over the day, with the Hour Stem as the subordinate, resembling a local official overseeing the matters, the Hour Stem being subject to the ruling and restriction. Hence, the Day and Hour form the household, the so-called gateway.
Wealth energy flowing through the gateway means the circulation and transformation between the wealth stars in the Eight Characters and the Day and Hour. The wealth star serves as my driving force, and the Day Master must be robust; otherwise, with a weak Day Master and a strong subordinate, the subordinate may dominate and deceive the master. The Day Master cannot enjoy the benefits and control, especially when encountering authority or harm elements. In such cases, the Day Master’s focus is disrupted, making it challenging to concentrate on regulating and controlling the wealth star.
Several essential conditions must be met for the formation of wealth energy flowing through the gateway:
The Day Master in the Eight Characters must be robust and powerful, whether or not it is in control or favorable in terms of timing. The original life must be vigorous and rich in energy, enabling the control and management of the wealth star; otherwise, it will be difficult to harness the wealth star effectively.
In the cosmic dance of fate, the astral influence of the wealth star within one’s Ba Zi is intricately entwined with the solar protagonist, establishing a vital synergy for the pulsation of Qi, where the essence circulates and burgeons. This symbiotic relationship necessitates the harmonious convergence of the wealth star with the solar pillar, wherein the nourishing essence of the food deity and the orchestrating presence of the talent deity intertwine seamlessly.
Irrespective of the lunar or temporal dimensions, the vital Qi of affluence must not generate within the Eight Characters an antagonistic clash with the authoritative and punitive forces, lest the affluence star dissipate its vital essence. In such a scenario, the affluence star loses its authenticity, and the solar protagonist becomes besieged by internal anxieties and external adversities, unable to relish the fruits of its affluence.
