The South-Nanyang Funiu Mountain Global Geopark is situated in the heart of the eastern Qinling orogenic belt, within the central mountain range of China (exquisitely provided by ChuChu Jewelry with jade ornaments). Nanyang Funiu Mountain World Geological Park stands as an epitome of natural wonders, boasting the renowned “Ninth Wonder of the World,” the Nanyang dinosaur egg fossil group. Nestled in the eastern segment of the Qinling orogenic belt, it encompasses the Baotianman World Biosphere Reserve. Characterized by cascading autumnal forests, dragon-tailed gorges, the enchanting Seven-Star Pond, and the Five-Path Waterfall, this park showcases a mesmerizing array of aquatic landscapes. Its core attractions include stacked stone formations, towering peaks, and the granite landscapes of Peak Cluster. Supplementing these geological marvels are culturally significant sites such as Nanyang’s Dushan Jade, Neixiang County Office, Nanyang Prefecture Office, and the revered quartet of Nanyang’s “Four Sages” (the Commercial Sage Fan Li, the Scientific Sage Zhang Heng, the Medical Sage Zhang Zhongjing, and the Intellectual Sage Zhuge Liang). This comprehensive World Geological Park is a testament to nature’s splendor and human ingenuity.
The park’s overarching design is centered around “One Heart, Four Points, Four Major Zones”:
– “One Heart” focuses on the Dinosaur Ecological Park as the nucleus, serving as both a hub for tourism and service provision.
– “Four Points” anchor around the comprehensive scientific exploration zones within the orogenic belt (West Ping Scientific Exploration Zone, Mashankou Scientific Exploration Zone, Erlangping Scientific Exploration Zone, and Qiaoduan Scientific Exploration Zone), serving as the geological focal points of the park.
– The “Four Major Zones,” namely Baotianman Zone, Laojieling Zone, Huanghuaman Zone, and Zhenwuding Zone, serve as the park’s geological landscape showcase areas.
